Representative Rayfield to Hold Small Business Town Hall
November 4, 2015
Salem – Representative Dan Rayfield (D-Corvallis) is holding a Town Hall on Monday, November 9th, to discuss issues of importance to small businesses and provide information on state resources available to small businesses. The Town Hall will be held from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library in Corvallis.
“The Legislature dealt with a number of small business-related issues in the past legislative session and the Legislature is likely to address more of these issues in the upcoming session in February. As a result, I want to hear from our small businesses here in Corvallis and Philomath about what their interests, priorities, and concerns are so that I can best represent their interests in the Legislature” said Rayfield.
Rayfield will kick off the Town Hall with a summary of legislation passed during the 2015 session that may be of interest to small businesses and offer some thoughts about possible small-business related issues that may be addressed in the upcoming February session.
Rayfield’s presentation will be followed by a series of speakers discussing state resources available to support small businesses and how to access these resources. Speakers will include: Ruth Miles, Office of Small Business Assistance; John Downing, Oregon Small Business Development Center Network; Marc Manley, LBCC Small Business Development Center and Grow Oregon; Whitney Davis, Business & Employer Services Group at LBCC; Jim Coonan, Regional Accelerator Innovation Network (RAIN); and Skip Rung, Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI).
The Town Hall will conclude with a discussion and question and answer session with Rayfield.
